Brewery branding / can wraps / shelf presence

Beer Can Artwork Design for Alaska Breweries.

A beer can has seconds to stand out in a cooler and years of potential reuse across a brewery's lineup. FOURAK designs distinctive can graphics with a flexible identity system, not just one attractive mockup that fails on the packaging line.

01 / Who this is for

A design system that has a job to do.

Independent Alaska breweries and beverage teams preparing a flagship release, seasonal series, collaboration or complete can-family refresh.

The problem we solve

Can designs must account for tall or standard formats, seams, manufacturing tolerances, print method and required copy. Without a system, every release may look unrelated, and small production changes can trigger expensive reruns.

We balance a recognizable brewery brand with individual beer identities. The artwork is built for the actual can supplier or sleeve printer and reviewed at realistic dimensions.

02 / Our approach

Built for the real-world workflow.

01 / PRODUCTION

Define the release system

We identify which elements stay constant across the lineup, such as brewery mark, type grid and information panel, and which change by beer name, style or seasonal story. This helps new releases feel related without becoming repetitive.

02 / PRODUCTION

Design around the supplier's production method

Direct-to-can printing, shrink sleeves and adhesive wraps have different templates, color behavior and minimum sizes. We obtain the current approved dieline, seam or overlap requirements, safe zones, white-ink guidance and proof method from the chosen vendor before final art.

03 / PRODUCTION

Reserve the important text

We organize brewery name, product designation, net contents, applicable alcohol information, address and health-warning areas based on client-provided requirements. Federal, Alaska and distribution rules can differ by beverage classification and sales channel; the brewery is responsible for the final compliance review and any required approvals.

04 / PRODUCTION

Prepare proofable press files

The delivery can include vector artwork, final raster graphics where required, print-ready PDF or Illustrator files as specified, and a separate mockup for marketing. A visual render is not a printer proof; final manufacture follows the vendor's check and the brewery's sign-off.

03 / Scope

What your design package can include

We tailor deliverables to the intended use and confirm file formats, concepts, rounds and ownership in writing. This list describes available scope items, not an all-inclusive fixed-price bundle.

  • Creative direction for a flagship or seasonal can
  • Flat can-wrap artwork built on vendor dielines
  • SKU naming, series layout and information hierarchy
  • Spot-color or CMYK artwork per printer specification
  • Shelf-view mockups clearly identified as concepts
  • Final production exports and version-controlled SKU files

05 / Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Can you design a 12 oz and 16 oz version?

Yes. Each can format needs its own current vendor dieline and fit checks. Multiple sizes and SKUs should be listed separately in the scope.

Does FOURAK submit TTB label applications?

No compliance filing is included by default. The brewer determines whether federal approval is required for its product and distribution, and supplies approved regulatory information.

Can you reuse the system for seasonal beers?

Yes. We can create a master layout with controlled typography, reusable graphic positions and separate release files.

Do you print the cans?

We create the graphic artwork and can coordinate with the selected production vendor if scoped. Manufacturing, printed samples, minimum orders and freight are vendor costs.

Brewery labeling reference: U.S. Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) guidance. FOURAK prepares design artwork; approval and regulatory determination remain the producer's responsibility.
