Retail products / physical packaging / prepress

Product Packaging Design in Alaska.

Packaging has to do three jobs at once: protect the product through the real container system, communicate what the buyer needs to know and represent the brand clearly on a shelf. FOURAK develops packaging graphics around the supplier's actual structure and production constraints.

01 / Who this is for

A design system that has a job to do.

Alaska food and beverage makers, gift brands, small-batch products, retail suppliers and organizations launching physical merchandise.

The problem we solve

Artwork that looks good as a flat image can break at a fold, vanish under a seal or become unreadable on an actual box. Printer dielines, barcodes, material choice and legally required copy all change the amount of usable design space.

We start with the real package shape and printing method so designs remain readable when assembled. The result is a practical balance of brand storytelling, visual hierarchy and production readiness.

02 / Our approach

Built for the real-world workflow.

01 / PRODUCTION

Start with physical dimensions

The packaging supplier provides the final dieline, container dimensions, printable area, fold and glue positions, material specifications and tolerances. We do not substitute an invented box template for a vendor-approved production drawing.

02 / PRODUCTION

Plan the front, side and back panels

We prioritize product identity, key information and brand recognition while reserving room for client-approved legal copy, ingredients, barcodes or safety statements when applicable. Labeling law varies by product category and destination; the manufacturer or its counsel verifies compliance.

03 / PRODUCTION

Design for the material and press

Screen colors cannot be assumed to match physical ink. We plan spot colors, CMYK builds, varnishes, foil, white ink and substrate effects with the printer when specified. Before production, we inspect safe areas, type size, fold direction, barcodes and print resolution.

04 / PRODUCTION

Test with a physical proof

A printed mockup can uncover readability and alignment issues missed on screen. Vendor proofs and press checks are separate from design acceptance unless included in scope. Files are delivered in the production formats requested by the chosen supplier.

03 / Scope

What your design package can include

We tailor deliverables to the intended use and confirm file formats, concepts, rounds and ownership in writing. This list describes available scope items, not an all-inclusive fixed-price bundle.

  • Packaging concept and graphics for approved dieline
  • Front, side, back and closure-panel layout
  • Barcode and mandatory-copy reserved areas
  • Brand color, type and graphic system
  • Press-ready artwork to the printer's specification
  • Production notes and organized handoff files

05 / Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Can you design a product box before we choose a printer?

We can develop visual direction first, but final production artwork requires the actual structure and vendor specifications.

Will FOURAK guarantee our food or cosmetic label compliance?

No. We can place client-approved required content and coordinate artwork revisions. The producer remains responsible for legal and category-specific review.

Can you design several product variants?

Yes. We can build a coherent family system and scope each SKU, size and change separately.
